Did You Know?

In 2007-08 the PSC attended 31 career fairs, business dinners and receptions across Saskatchewan to promote careers in the public service and 40 outreach events including group information presentations.

Are you a hiring manager who is going to be staffing a position? Not sure where to begin?

In the Saskatchewan public service, managers are responsible and accountable for managing their own human resource needs.

This reference guide was created to help hiring managers successfully carrying out their role in the staffing process.

The staffing practices, provisions and principles outlined, including planning, recruitment, assessment, orientation and development, are equally applicable and valuable for all staffing, including Labour Service and CUPE in-scope staffing. For specific administrative procedures and processes for Labour Service or CUPE staffing, please consult the appropriate collective bargaining agreement or ministry Human Resource Branch.

Disclaimer
If there is any discrepancy between the information provided in the Staffing Reference Guide and the language of the collective bargaining agreements, The Public Service Act, The Public Service Regulations or the Human Resource Policies, the language of the agreements, legislation and policies will prevail.
